Compare productivity and accuracy using the right denominators
Instruction: Calculate the requested rates and explain what the comparison does and does not show.
A fictional site measures completed order lines per productive picking hour and first-pass line accuracy. Each erroneous line counts once, even if it has multiple errors. Reworked lines remain in the original completed-line total. The two shifts below handled a similar product mix. Calculate both rates for each shift and compare them. These figures are exercise data, not industry targets.
| Shift | Completed lines | Productive picking time | Lines requiring rework |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 420 | 6 hours | 7 |
| B | 456 | 6 hours | 12 |
Optional work sample for experienced associates: Written working is welcome. This is not a universal warehouse interview requirement.
