A proposed bounding box extends beyond the image. How would you apply a visible-region annotation rule?

Instruction: Apply the supplied continuous-edge and visible-region rules. Calculate the exported rectangle, and distinguish this stipulated exercise from checking a real image.

Context:

Calculate a visible-region box and explain when clipping a proposed rectangle is justified. Check the coordinate contract before applying a correction.

Fictional practice task

The image has width 1000 and height 600. Coordinates refer to continuous pixel edges: the image occupies x = [0, 1000], y = [0, 600]. A proposed box has (left, top, right, bottom) = (900, 550, 1030, 680).

For this exercise, the visible object region is exactly the intersection of that proposed rectangle with the image. The project requires visible-region boxes, not estimated full-object boxes outside the image. Export (left, top, width, height) in the same coordinate units. Calculate the exported box and state what you would need to inspect before applying this simplified correction to a real image.

Prepare a stronger answer

I’d export the box as left 900, top 550, width 100 and height 50. The right edge is limited to 1000 and the bottom edge to 600. Subtracting the left and top gives the width and height...
