I like to test savings claims against a baseline the business can actually defend. If the comparison point is weak, then the savings number can look better than the decision really is. So I want to know what the baseline was, what assumptions changed, and whether the cost reduction is real after volume, service, and implementation effects are considered.

I also do not want savings celebrated without looking...
