I would change it through the work more than through a speech. If procurement consistently frames supplier decisions around continuity, service, quality, speed, and risk as well as cost, people start seeing the function differently. They usually form that perception because procurement has sounded too price-focused in past conversations.

So I would make sure my recommendations show total business impact. The point is not to downplay cost....
