[Stakeholders] What do you do when you are brought into a purchase too late to run a clean process?

If I am brought in late, I want to stabilize the situation before I judge it. I would figure out what is already committed, what can still be changed, what risk is now locked in, and where the business is most exposed. Sometimes the best answer is to contain the damage on this purchase and fix the behavior afterward.
